Platform Purpose
RideShare is a platform for arranging shared long-distance car journeys between passengers and drivers. It is designed for a UK-first launch and future regional expansion.
Eligibility And Accounts
You must be at least 18 to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your account and phone contact details accurate, protecting your sign-in details, and telling us if you believe your account has been compromised.
Verification, Driver Approval, And Vehicles
We may require identity, driver profile, vehicle, and safety checks before users can access certain features. Approval may be refused, delayed, suspended, or withdrawn where safety, compliance, or trust concerns arise.
Uploaded Evidence
Users must upload only accurate, relevant files they are entitled to provide. Identity, driver, vehicle, insurance, and support evidence is reviewed only by authorised users and must not be used to bypass verification, safety, or support processes.
Journey Posting And Seat Requests
Drivers must provide accurate route, date, pickup, drop-off, vehicle, and seat information. Passengers must request seats in good faith and follow agreed journey arrangements unless a safety issue or legitimate reason prevents this.
Passenger Contributions
The service is intended for shared travel and reasonable cost-sharing, not for drivers to operate a profit-making transport business through the platform. More detailed contribution controls may be added before launch.
Payments And Payouts
Payment and payout records are currently handled through the app's MVP workflow. See the Payment and payout policy for the current operational position.
Safety Expectations
Users must behave respectfully, keep journey arrangements lawful, use messaging responsibly, avoid harassment or discrimination, and report safety concerns through support. Drivers remain responsible for safe driving and vehicle roadworthiness.
Emergency Tracking
Emergency tracking links are read-only safety tools intended for trusted contacts. They do not guarantee live emergency response. In an emergency, call local emergency services first.
Prohibited Conduct
You must not misuse accounts, impersonate others, submit false verification details, arrange unsafe journeys, bypass platform safety steps, scrape the service, interfere with security, or use the platform for unlawful activity.
Suspension And Termination
We may suspend or restrict accounts where there are safety, fraud, support, compliance, payment, or misuse concerns. Admin actions should be recorded and reviewed through appropriate internal controls.
Disputes, Support, And Liability Drafting
Use support channels for disputes or concerns. Liability wording, dispute process wording, and consumer-law details are draft and must be reviewed professionally before launch.
